Year 6 Residential - Day 3

After another settled night and a lovely, energy-boosting breakfast, we made our way up to explore Castell Dinas Brân. The hill was a long, steep climb, but once again, the children took on the challenge with great energy and positivity. Thankfully, the incredibly hot sun let us get back down before it appeared for the day. After lunch, it was obvious it was going to be a hot one, so we made our way to the aqueduct in Llangollen where we found out that is the longest and highest aqueduct in the UK. It crosses the Dee Valley and is a grade 1 listed building and part of a World Heritage Site. After we had learned about the history of the area, we cooled down with an ice-cream before returning to Bryntysilio to cool off further with another refreshing wild swim! The final activity of the day was low ropes which the children absolutely loved! The evening was finished off by hot chocolate and biscuits.

We have had so many compliments today from the general public, staff in shops and staff at the centre telling us how wonderfully well-behaved, polite and ‘phenomenal’ the children are! What a credit they are to both their families and Springdale.
