Year 6 - Making Blood

As part of this term’s Science topic in Year 6, Animals including humans, we are learning about the circulatory system. In order to help us understand the different parts of our blood and their function, we made blood in class before writing our explanations on what each part of our blood does. We used a variety of ingredients to represent each part of our blood. We used cheerios and red food colouring for the red blood cells, white mini marshmallows for the white blood cells, pompoms for the platelets and finally water and yellow food colouring for the plasma.

Ask Year 6 about the function of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma.
