Black History month in Year 6

As October is Black History month, we spent some time this week focusing on the fascinating life of Walter Tull, the first black officer to lead a British army into battle. As we study World War I next term, finding out about Walter Tull’s fascinating life journey has been a wonderful way to both appreciate his incredible achievements but also has wet our appetites ready for our History unit next term.

Year 6 spent time researching his life, before producing some beautiful biographies, which are now on display in school.
